WHY EYE?

Eye is the body’s most highly developed sensory organs. It bit’s the five senses bestowed to us through which we interact with our environment. Eye is the far larger part of the brain is dedicated to vision than to hearing, taste, touch, or smell combined. As one of the most important senses, 80% of what we perceive comes through our sense of sight. And We tend to take eyesight for granted; yet when vision problems develop, most of us will do everything in our power to restore our eyesight back to normal. By protecting the eyes, will reduce the odds of blindness and vision loss while also staying on top of any developing eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.

Eye tests are important for vision health in people of all ages, Regular eye testing are especially important with age, when the risk of conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration rises. Some of the tips at different ages for the eye checkups:

  • Children – Eye test at six months of age, three years of age, before first grade, and every two years following until adulthood.
  • Adults 18 to 60 – Eye test every two years.
  • Adults 61+ – Eye test annually.

As we know eye is the most important part of our body from which we see this beautiful world. Additionally, there are some tips for good eye health.

Healthy Diet Healthy Eyesight

A diet is most important for our eyesight. We are what we eat and so is our eyesight. Foods rich in nutrients like vitamin C and E, zinc, lutein and omega-3 fatty acids strengthen your eyes against age-related eye problems.

Quit Smoking

Smoking damages the whole body, including the blood vessels that supply blood and nutrients to your eyes. If you are a smoker, quit smoking for eyesight

Safety glasses

Wear sunglasses with cap when outdoors. Ultraviolet light can cause damage the eyes and, in the long term, lead to eye conditions such as cataract.

Excessive Exposure to Computer Screens

Take regular breaks when working in front of your computer. Staring at the computer causes eyestrain and tired eyes and can cause long-term damage to your vision. Make sure have proper lighting. Low light or bright lights can cause eyestrain.

Blinking Breaks

Blinking brings relax to the eyes, make sure to get your head up, look away from the docs and just blink your eyes for a few seconds to relieve the strain.

Avoid Rubbing Eyes habit

Eye-rubbing is one of the irritating habit which many of has, which is quite damaging for eye health. We need to realize that most of the times our hands are covered with germs responsible for different types of diseases and infections. So, it’s better if you get rid of this unhealthy habit.
